Mitchell Starc beats Glenn McGrath to become fastest to take 60 wickets in ODI World Cup history

In the history of the ODI World Cup, Mitchell Starc surpasses Glenn McGrath to become the fastest player to 60 wickets.

With the 2023 ICC Men's ODI World Cup, Mitchell Starc became the bowler with the fastest 60-wicket record in record history. The left-arm speedster's outstanding debut in the tournament's semi-final matchup against South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday saw him accomplish this achievement in just 27 games.

Starc scalped two wickets in his first seven overs, first dismissing skipper Temba Bavuma before getting the better of vice-captain Aiden Markram.

Starc had claimed 27 wickets in the 2019 competition, compared to his 22 in the 2015 edition. Having already claimed 11 scalps this year, he is lethal and the five-time champions seem certain to make it to the tournament final.

This World Cup, Starc hasn't played at the peak of his abilities. Even though he had been rested from the last game against Bangladesh, the bowler was slowly making his way back into the starting lineup.
From the outset of this game, the bowler performed admirably, launching himself into full speed, bringing the ball in, and regularly hitting the right-handed hitters' pads.
Australia will be happy that Starc is regaining his groove ahead of a potential matchup at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19 against the in-form Indian side. Starc has performed admirably for Australia with this strategy on a regular basis.

Virat Kohli will resume leading Test teams.

Virat Kohli will resume leading Test teams. On social media, there is an increasing call for the Indian cricket team's Test captain to be replaced. Rohit Sharma should be replaced, according to fans, by either Virat Kohli or Ravichandran Ashwin. However, given the ageing Indian team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selectors have a difficult task in selecting a new skipper. With the exception of Shubman Gill, all six of the top players are over 34 years old, making the transition all the more critical. After India's dismal loss to Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) final, Rohit Sharma's leadership has come under fire. The team lost by 209 runs, extending their ICC title drought even further. The World Test Championship's upcoming cycle means that the selectors may have a difficult time finding a suitable successor. Given the limited choices available and the approaching ODI World Cup in 2023, it is unlikely that Rohit will be replaced anytim...
